Today I finished up my personal website (shameless plug, it's www.JoshFFuller.com) and I took a good hard look at my professional profiles. I came to the resounding conclusion that, in my attempt to be prim and proper, I stifled my personality and created a boring hunk of text.
Though placement of keywords, and using words that come off as intellectual is clearly important, I have come to the conclusion that personality is what will make the difference. When I meet someone, I don't wow them with my ability to be on par with every other person in the room, I let me personality shine and see if we are compatible. I have every intention of doing the same through my networking resources as well.

It's a Blog!
My Introduction to Blogging
Several reputable sources suggest blogging is an essential way to enhance your personal brand (see references at end). Not too long ago, I found the value of developing a personal brand, in an attempt to advertise a couple of large projects I was involved in, I realized that a strong network and solid personal brand can take you places in the world. The development of communication skills never hurts either.
In my attempt to organize my life, which may have lead to me sitting here at 1 a.m. writing a blog, I decided to take this advice. Now the advice didn't go much past "this is your space to share your thoughts" or "make yourself seem personable" so I am not 100% sure what I will be posting, but isn't that half the fun?
Warning: I do think I am funny. I may not be funny. This blog title is evidence of this. Also, I am no English major, as will become very clear before long.
